A New Announcement

The Game Cupboard is happy to announce it will be returning in early April. Starting with an all new themed campaign game:

Gotham: City of the Bat: A City at War

Earlier this month, I was kindly offered by Jez, to write an article written on his site “Carrion Crow`s Buffet.”

After a long break from blogging and hobby lifestyle-ing on websites, it felt so good to be wielding the old war sword once again; and for just a moment I felt like King Théoden when Gandalf said to him: “You might remember the old days even better my Lord, if you grasped your sword once again.”
I wonder if jez, just like Gandalf did, actually knew the healing properties in those words and the deep power of that persuasive benediction? Certainly it felt wonderfully complete to be able to share my hobby once again with other like-minded hobbyists, and I am grateful to Jez, for providing the impetus which has caused the gang and I to want to start writing once again. I don’t mind how many read our blog, or how many comments we receive for any of our articles: and just to be able to reach people in what is (at the end of the day) a wonderful shared interest... is fulfilment enough for me: and I feel sure the same rings true for the other Emerald Isle Musketeers (aka my two partners in crime).
But we have not been idle this last several months, oh no. We have been hobbying solidly... pretty much focussing entirely on planning, implementing and ultimately playing science fantasy games, all geared towards bringing converted HeroClix (and anything else we could DIY for our game theme) to a shared world of Batman, Captain America, Klye Reese and John Connor`s Terminator, alongside Judge Dredd`s Cursed Earth.. to create an all encompassing dark macabre futuristic world of gothic noir and neon laser.
Firmly based in DC comic book world of Batman, this new series will focus in on the use of genre crossover: and a unique `gates` system will ensure lots of potential for dimensional and extra-plainer immersion, plus time distortion access to pure inventions of the mind: allowing treasure troves of imagination and, hopefully, previously unexplored possibilities.

All the usual suspects will be involved of course: from Batman`s Joker, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Clay Face, Harvey Two Face, Penguin, Riddler, and then we have Captain America`s Black Widow, Iron Man, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D etc etc and of course Xavier`s X Men have to make an appearance (just wouldn’t be the same without them)... all the way to Cursed Earth`s Anderson, Hershey, members of BritCit and various MC Citi-Def, various individuals, criminals, perps and those oh so indispensible minor characters and cool quirky robots.. ending up as a truly tricky eclectic and memorable “what if” game, along similar lines that HeroClix used to be played and enjoyed, back in its glorious heyday.

Should all be quite a fun ride. Hopefully you will join us on the epic adventure we plan to share with you.
